Environment Week: Nanogate presents new air purification systems at the German President´s official residence in Berlin
Nanogate AG is the only company from the federal state of Saarland among the 200 firms exclusively invited to exhibit at the official residence of the German President, Bellevue Palace, during Environment Week. The systems provider will showcase innovative products for air filtration and energy efficiency.Göttelborn, Germany, 30 May 2012. Nanogate AG (ISIN DE000A0JKHC9), the leading international integrated systems provider for high-performance surfaces, is among the guests invited by the German President and the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU) environmental organisation to mark the fourth Environment Week on 5 and 6 June. With financial assistance from the DBU, Nanogate is developing an innovative finish for fine-particle filters which will be presented at the event. Thanks to Nanogate-Technologie, less energy is needed to operate filters in ventilation and air-conditioning systems. The company will display a pilot scheme which is currently being trialled in a road tunnel system.
"Fine-particle filters are now used in a wide range of applications," explains Holger Zytur, Managing Director of Nanogate Textile and Care Systems GmbH, "from ventilation systems in modern homes to large-scale industrial installations. The aim here is to minimise energy consumption. Our technology helps to utilise energy optimally by improving the filters´ efficiency."
Filter operations offer energy-saving potential
More powerful filters usually need denser material, which means that even more energy is needed to force air through the filter without a significant loss in pressure. With the filter finish developed by Nanogate, it is possible to achieve higher dust recovery without altering the air permeability of the filter material. This means there is no pressure loss compared to an uncoated filter, making the filter more efficient without using more energy.
"The all-important question for the coming decades will be how to deal with climate protection and conserve resources. Nanotechnology will continue to play a major role in solving this problem in the future and Nanogate AG will remain firmly dedicated to tackling the issue," added Ralf Zastrau, CEO of Nanogate AG.
