In the printing machine industry, functional surfaces for the efficiency of individual components are decisive for the printing quality. Flexible machine running times as well as a fast refitting for the next printing contract are key elements of an efficient process.

An example for productivity improvement with the aid of Nanogate-Technologie^® is represented by the surface enhancement of rotation bodies in printing machines, here particularly of web-lead rollers in newspaper printing. The roller surfaces that are subjected to a high degree of wear are enhanced by a resistant ultra-thin layer in such a way that not as much fresh printing ink is deposited on the roller surface. This extends the running time of the machine, the cleaning is minimized and, with that, productivity increases. A specially developed application procedure guarantees the quality-assured and now series-tested, high reliability of the system.
