Göttelborn, Germany, March 6, 2019. Nanogate SE, a leading global technology company for design-oriented, multifunctional components and surfaces, is appearing for the first time at the ISH trade fair in Frankfurt/Main in 2019 at its own stand. At the world’s leading trade fair for water, heat and climate control, the Group will present its innovations and system solutions, especially in the areas of stainless steel and smart surfaces.

Innovations in Stainless Steel Applications – Largest Order in Company History
Nanogate will present its stainless steel replacement technology for the first time at the ISH, for which the Group received the largest order in its history last summer with a volume of up to USD 100 million. Nanogate will deliver the components for kitchen appliances to a renowned US manufacturer starting this year. The process involves the use of heat-resistant plastic, which is metallized with a stainless steel look in a process developed and integrated by Nanogate. The technology is based on innovative forming processes and multifunctional enhancement. Included in this are a number of surface options, such as easy-to-clean or anti-fingerprint, with the possible integration of additional functions.
Since this year, Nanogate has also offered direct enhancements for stainless steel. The high-quality finishings with new color palettes, which make design varieties such as rose-gold possible, also offer high-performance surface functions.
Environmentally Friendly and Cost-Effective Chrome Replacement Technologies – First Series Production Order Started
Under the N-Metals brand, Nanogate bundles a comprehensive portfolio of technologies for metallizing plastics, for example as a replacement for chrome, stainless steel, copper, aluminum and precious metals. The Group thus covers a whole host of geometrics and can integrate easy-to-clean, anti-fingerprint or even color functionalities into metallized surface concepts.
The first series order was started in the past year for the technology developed at the Neunkirchen site to metallize plastics with a chrome look in a cost-effective manner. The project involved the development and production of metallized plastic components with a chrome look for components of the “e-scooter”. By eliminating environmentally harmful substances such as chromium (VI), the technology is far greener than previous electroplating techniques. At the same time, N-Metals opens up numerous additional functions, such as translucence and radar permeability. Nanogate customers can therefore develop all-new products, thus giving themselves a competitive edge.
Revolutionary Design and Operation: Integrated Smart Surfaces
Nanogate also noted great interest in the concepts for a new generation of user interfaces with integrated electronic functions in plastic components. This gives companies access to new design worlds and operating concepts. New products can therefore be designed differently and can therefore be more efficient, smaller and more lightweight. Particularly in the target markets of mobility, home appliances and consumer electronics, new designs for multifunctional components are in demand. The design of new interfaces between humans and machines will be a mega-trend in the coming years.
Resource-Saving Heat Exchangers
In the N-Metals area, Nanogate also offers resource-saving functions for heat systems. Thanks to the innovative and functional coating, aluminum heat exchangers are protected from corrosion, which makes it possible to use light metals with better heat exchange properties for the first time. The heating efficiency thereby remains consistently high. In addition, the useful life of the heat systems is significantly extended. Previous orders particularly involve enhancing heat exchangers with state-of-the-art heat technology for use in single family homes and apartment buildings.
